Invasive Plants by Mary Bowker
About the Event
Is your property being swallowed up by invasive plants? Please join us for the February meeting for Mary Bowker’s presentation on invasive plants...what they are and how to get rid of them. Mary and her husband Roger are both Master Gardeners. They purchased a historic former dairy farm in 2001 and have spent the last 19 years rescuing 15 acres from invasive plants. Mary’s expertise will inspire you to rescue your own property.
The Right Plant in the Right Place. What is the right plant?
As gardeners, many of us spend a lot of time discussing the many ways that native plants are good for our gardens. And we know that invasive plants are not. But what do we do about either of these? If nothing else, I hope you will leave this ZOOM Room today with some motivation to plant more natives and to work on ridding your garden of invasives.
We’ll discuss the benefits and beauty of native plants and learn to identify some of the more troublesome invasives and explore ways to “neutralize” them.
Mary will be first on the agenda from Noon to about 12:45, followed by our general meeting. We will start the Zoom session around 11:30 AM so that folks can connect and settle in and visit before the meeting starts.
